InuYasha is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Rumiko Takahashi. The manga was adapted into two anime television series. A total of four feature films and an original video animation have also been released.
InuYasha is not just a Japanese adventure manga and TV anime series, but it is also the name of a male character from it, more exactly of a half-demon, who helps a middle school girl by the name of Kagome Higurashi in their adventures.
Kagome Higurashi is a teenager girl from Tokyo who is transported through a well in another period of time, to the Sengoku period of Japan, where she meet the half-demon InuYasha, when a monster from that era tries to take the magical Jewel of Four Souls embodied in Kagome. When Kagome accidentally splits the Jewel into various shards dispersed across all Japan, she and InuYasha start they fantastic journey to recover the shards, gaining allies but also enemies with magical powers throughout their journey.
InuYasha and Kagome's allies are Shippo, a small fox demon, Miroku, a monk who suffers from a curse his ancestors were given by a powerful demon, Sango, a demon-slayer whose clan was killed by a goup of demons and Kirara, Sango's animal partner. Their enemy is Naraku, a devious and powerful half-demon and InuYasha's older half-brother Sesshomaru.
In the end InuYasha and his allies defeat Naraku and his evil forces and the good guy ends up with the pretty girl as well, as InuYasha lives happily ever after with Kagome in his world, the Sengoku period.
